FLOOD WARDENS REQUIRED

We are currently drafting an Emergency Plan and need residents to volunteer to be Flood Wardens. We also need local churches, halls etc to be meeting places in case of emergencies.
Flood Wardens are the eyes and ears of the community. Whether you are out walking your dog or just driving about you can keep an eye out for blocked drains and culverts, pools of water, or anything else that may cause a flood risk and report them to the appropriate people.
If you are willing to help please do let us know. We will supply all volunteers with training and a handbook.

Proposed changes to dog and smoking laws

West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) is seeking to vary the Public Spaces Protection Order (Dog Control and Prohibition of Smoking in Public Places).
They want to continue to promote responsible dog ownership and also to prohibit smoking in certain public spaces in the West Northamptonshire area. The council is now seeking to vary the Order to cover the Northampton Area and include the requirement to keep dogs on leads in Northampton town centre and also at Upton Country Park Phase 2 and exclude dogs from certain public open spaces such as play areas and schools. They are inviting you to read further information about the measures and proposals and complete an online consultation questionnaire to give your views.
Respond by Monday 17th April 2023.
